    Update on the run

You're welcome. It is so easy to fall off the wagon for whatever reason, and SO hard to drag yourself back on. I had said when I had started my program that I was just going to stay on the wagon, it was much easier than getting off and having to start again, but that plan was moot. This time...

    Update on the run

I believe it was Mr. Nurse who requested an update on my run this past weekend. My PC didn't bother me at all...what did bother me was my hips from a run earlier in the week. My little "friend" has went back to sleep and I pray to God he stays that way. I'm still tired, but eager to get back...

    Question on flare-up

My ex-husband had a round with 2 bad pc's and after his second lancing, it constantly drained blood and pus. We were going through boxes of gauze a week. As has been said previously, this is a bad disease to have with no insurance, which was the case with him. He never did get it taken care...

my doctor made a face when I told her

You need to get to a Dr. ASAP. Your flu-like symptoms are what I had a few weeks ago, and lo and behold, my "friend" was infected. I would say that the pus and gunk that is leaking out can definitely hurt you if it gets into your body through either anus or vagina. My dr. did a wound culture...

    All good so far!

Yeah, we were early getting to the show so we hopped over to Concord Mills to kill a little time. Hubby wants to go to the Speedway for some bif drag event they're having. I wouldn't live in Charlotte, though. Too much crime. Not that Hickory is getting any better, but you can't turn on the...

    All good so far!

Yeah, I'm in NC, near Hickory. I was just down in Charlotte a few weeks ago for the Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick show at Verizon. I swear, Charlotte gets bigger every time I go there!

    All good so far!

Thanks, Jenny, me too! I'm hitting the trails tonight with hubby getting ready for the trail race on Sat.

    All good so far!

Back from the doctor and we are golden! He said it is healing beautifully, it looked great and since we nipped it fairly quickly, he doesn't think I'll have any further problems with this current round. That's not to say that it won't flare up again in the future, but for the time being at...

Hair removal - good or not?

Very interesting and it makes perfect sense. In my case, perhaps this current round with it WAS due to exercise after all. Guess I have to be super super careful when I work out. Did he give you any remedies to prevent those hairs from embedding? Other than scrubbing the area in the shower...

    All good so far!

I am going back to the doctor this morning for hopefully a final re-check on my "friend", and took my last Levaquin this morning. Aside from some itching, all is well back there. Since I have a race coming up this Sat., I figured I'd better do some running this week so it doesn't completely...

    Levaquen

This really sucks cuz I'm a very active person and cannot stand to be sidelined like this. What really makes me mad is that I was doing a very strict 30 day diet/exercise routine and was 2 weeks in and looking and feeling better than ever, and then wham! [:^] I get stopped short. This was...

    Is this one coming on?

I too had a lengthy period between flare-ups (8 years) but when it flared up this time, I got a fever, felt yucky, and had a small lump at the top of the tailbone that itched. Mine hasn't opened on its own, I've had to have it lanced both times.

    Levaquen

Thanks! I don't know how much actual running I'm going to be able to do, but I'm going to give it my best shot. I have no hopes of beating my time from last year, but I really don't care. This race is a lot of fun, 6.2 miles through the woods and literally through a river 4 times. Can't...

    Levaquen

I figured it was a strong antibiotic. So far, I haven't noticed any stomack problems or loss of appetite. All I drink during the day is water, so maybe that has something to do with it. I contribute the Levaquin to me feeling as good as I do. I got on my treadmill the other night and walked...

    Epsom salt

Yeah, he is faithfully blow-drying my butt every night and bandaging it. I could probably do it myself, but I think he needs to share in this experience, don't y'all? :D
  16. O

    Levaquen

Anybody ever take this? I'm sure that some of you have, I was wondering about your experience with it. I started out on Bactrim but the wound culture showed minimal growth of the dreaded staph, so my doctor switched me to Levaquen. I go back to the dr next Tuesday, and I'm hoping there is...

    Epsom salt

I did it last night and it felt great. I got my crossword puzzle book and kicked back while hubby fixed dinner. When I took the bandage off, I noticed that there was no drainage, which is great. I told my husband that I was just going to use a band-aid on it since the incision is very small.

    Epsom salt

My dr told me yesterday to start soaking for 15 min every day in a sitz bath with saltwater. I should have asked her, but it slipped my mind. Are epsom salts ok to soak in? I would think so, but wanted to be sure before I go sticking my butt in something new.

    Exposure Quesiton

I haven't had surgery for this, but I did work in medicine for 10 years so I can give you some insight as far as that goes. When you have surgery, there is no expectation of privacy when it comes to body parts, especially when the surgery is in a "private" area. I don't know if the nurses...

    Theories about your cyst?

I know! I can't convince my mom that working out has absolutely no bearing on this whatsoever. Anytime anything happens to either me or my husband, whenever we have a pain or something like that, both she and my mother in law blame our workouts. Ingrown nail? From the workouts. Earache...
