9 months 2 ops getting nowhere again

#1
I'm at the end of my tether
I had my first op 8 months ago which was fully stitched 4 infections later it opened up and never healed it took me 7 months to make the hospital see that there was something wrong I had my second op 4 weeks ago this time was left open and much bigger, turns out they found a sinus again. Well it was going really well and healing pretty well I've now gone from 4cm deep to 1cm deep and it's come to a stop and started to bleed badly which is excalty what it did before. My nurses aren't Interested in trying anything else apart from aquacel, I was referred to the wound clinic but they didn't really help me either just packed me up like the nurse and sent me on my way I'm so fed up now

Although you've had two surgeries, it doesn't sound like there's any major cause for concern. I had an open wound (they did a skin graft but if failed), and the aquacel is by far the best packing to use, the silver in it has anti-bacterial properties so really reduces the risk on infection. I started with a 12cm deep wound and 4 months later there's less than a millimeter to heal. Unfortunately, this illness simply requires patience. If you only have 1cm left to go, i can't imagine it will be too long before you're fully healed

I hope so the wound before my second op was 1cm for about 4 months, I know i just have to ride it out but sometimes it does get to me when I can't do certain things

I know your frustration. My cyst has come back twice now and this is my second surgery to remove it. My latest surgery was in February and like you my switches broke down and I was left with a great big hole. I'm still recovering now and feel so powerless as it's taken forever to heal. I have to get mine packed everyday. I'm using aquacell but the nurses assure me it's the best packing to use.

My nurses are at a loss to what else to use it was healing so well this time but it's got to the same depth it was before and it's just stopped

Oh no, it's got getting any better?

I think you need to ask about alternative options. I had my operation six weeks ago and I'm going back to work on Wednesday.

I'm still waiting for my follow up at hospital as they have no space, I've been signed off work for another 4 weeks which will be 10 weeks in total as my doctor doesn't want to risk me getting a infection or over doing it I'm trying to plan going travelling next year but with this hanging over me it's just never ending
