There were several posts from a few years back about lobbying Northern California Kaiser to start doing cleft lifts. And I think someone might have mentioned a surgeon in a Southern California Kaiser that does it? Does anyone know?

Any input would be most appreciated by my daughter - who is in a lot of pain!!

    Thanks!

    Hey there,
I was fortunate enough to find a Kaiser surgeon in So Cali; San Diego to be more precise. His name is Dr. Amilcar Exume. He is a REALLY informative yet friendly surgeon that who always went above and beyond to answer questions and take care of my "back side" when I went to see him. I had the cleft lift with him a little over two years ago and am doing fine so far. I've had a few incidences here and there, but so far I think I am okay.

One thing that freaked me out is that he does not like to put you out during the surgery- I still had an IV and was in "twilight" during the procedure which I remember a lot of. I had 4 other procedures and this one was a BREEZE! After two days of the drainage tube, it was removed and I felt like I was at 80%... then it was great from then.

Good luck- I know it is a drive for you but he is the only Kaiser surgeon that I am aware of...

Feel free to ask questions about him if you would like :)

Thanks for responding - we are looking into a consult with Dr. Exume. Can you explain what you mean by a "few incidences" since the surgery? - we were under the impression that cleft lift surgery took care of things once and for all. Those "incidences" make me nervous.....

    Thanks!
