is this normal or should I go to the doctor ? It's been a year and there was this tiny little hole that was left open and wouldn't close . Once in a blue moon it will drain sticky yellowish liquid and then it would go away. But now it's draining a lot just want to know if this is normal or should I be concern to go see a doctor ??? I did the cleft lift

Hi ,I m sorry you still have some trouble , I have not had the Cleft Lift procedure yet , but still planing to do it , but I have some questions , how big the hole you have ? is it located at the midline cleft ? do you still have some pain ? who is your surgeon ? in my opinion I would check with the Dr. first .

I literately went to the doctors today for that exact reason! It's been 6 months for me. Still a hole there and draining. When I sit a certain way, it seems to drain more. What he had told me was to get q-tips and peroxide and really clean in it a few times a day. I REALLY hope this works for me because he said if not, I would have to have it cut so I can repack it and let it heal differently. I seriously DO NOT want to go through the damn packing process again. I did that for months! haha So, I'll give you the advice he told me. Q-tips and peroxide. He told me to do this for two weeks and then I go back to see him. Perhaps you should do the same? Do the cleaning for two weeks and if it doesn't improve, go to the doctors. Fingers crossed this works!

before surgery i had draining but it was mostly dark pink not yellow.
    good luck.

Hi Farid, sorry I just now noticed your reply.

actually when i posted that above on Dec 9th, My cyst was flaring up bad.
it went down all the way by end of december but by then i had already scheduled a surgery .
which took place today around 3pm ish. they did a removal of the cyst , removal of the sinuses , and closed it with a flap.
so that's that. maybe it's the meds but it's 9pm now and i'm feeling fine.
haven't had to use the percocets, yets.

    Thank you Farid.

so far so good. feeling better now. still can't sit down perfectly/drive. giving it another day or two. i've only had incision and drainage one time b4 this.
Pilo i think i've had since i was in my early 20's. though never flared up till i got older.
no sticthes in this surgery . they remove the cyst and both sinuses, and did the flap procedure then closed it up with steri strips.

no worries about the questions, it's all good. hopefully it's helpful.

i'm just looking forward to getting back to the gym, bad.

    thx @Farid

I'd be interested to know as well...I'm pretty recent i had my surgery on the 7th but i'm covering all basses(cleft lift). I drain a lot as is normal at the moment...bathroom sucks my intenstines hate me...stool softner is slightly helpful. I am 26 and got my first cyst on July 4th 2015 i fell and thought i hurt my tailbone until only a few hours had passed and i was in a lot of pain in the evening. By the next day it had grown to a fair size bubble full of liquid. I talked to my dad whose a doctor and he helped a little but the next morning after not being able to sleep properly i had fallen asleep for about a half hour and woke in excruciating pain. I went to urgent care when without any pain management on their part they cut into it several times which did nothing then they poked it with steroid and it ppopped everywhere. I have never felt pain in my life like that. I had trauma afterwords where i coudlnt close my eyes without relviing the pain and sight of the scalpel. I thought it was over and recovered then 2 days before halloween i felt a dull pain in the same spot and new it was back...i got put on antibiotics and it helped a lot it eventually became so painful again and it popped and drained on its own on halloween.
I then went to a General doctor and they confirmed i needed surgery. i found a great General surgeon and was operated on January 7th 2016. It's hard to say how i feel since theres pain of course. I can say i looked at it in a mirror and was freaked out by how it looked. I thought i'd be deformed but swelling and all hasnt gone down. I take hydrocodone every 4 hours as needed and change the bandages 3-4 times a day or as i feel too much drainage. :(
