Hi, I had my surgery done in Sept of 2011, and until today it has still not been healed. I have started with seeing the surgeon until dec 2011, and after that he gave up and sent me to a Nurse Clinic. From there I have been seeing them until today. They have been basically putting gauze, cleaning it, burning it with Silver Nitrate and such. There was a point in March of 2012 where they told me it was almost fully healed and it just re-opened on it's own somehow even though I was seeing the nurse's every 2nd or 3rd day. Now the wound has finally come to the surface and just left with the opening. The depth is raised all the way to the top but the length and width have not healed or changed at all. I am here to ask for advice because in all honesty, it seems as if the surgeon has given up and I personally think this nurse clinic is kind of confused of what they are doing because they keep doing trial and error on me like I am some sort of experiment. Just yesterday they told me I might have a deep tissue infection because over the past week it has been bleeding quite a bit. Is this bleeding good or is it bad from your guy's experience? Also, I find it extremely strange that the wound can get infected in a mere of 2 days with full packing on the wound, is it me or are they not doing their job right? Any thoughts of what I can do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I think 10 months is far too long for this as my surgeon originally said 4-8 months for full recovery.

Same story as mine, I'm 13 months post op though, still hasn't healed. Gets to a point where it no longer needs packing, then either splits, then starts tunneling or whatever, they keep giving me bull shit about my anxiety causing it to get worse. If they don't know whats causing it, they'll always find some bullshit to give me

A nurse once said to me, "do you actually want this to heal", I've never felt so insulted in my life.

What the NHS has done to me over the last 13 months is absolutely criminal.

Currently on waiting list for another operation :(

    Joker,

What kind of surgery did you have? Cleft lift or another excision method?

Poolking: Have you considered reporting that nurse? Blaming you for this is completely over the line of professional behavior.

Believe me I've had countless doctor's tell me it shouldn't be a problem or act dumbfounded when the anti-biotics don't work. I also have had the grossed out look from plenty of nurses too. That is why I am so thankful to find doctor's and nurses that are sympathetic towards it. It's not like anyone wants this cyst on their tailbone. All mine have scarred up just fine. My only problemis that my scar tissue is so tough that it closes up quickly and the cyst cannot fully drain. I wish you luck too!
