I have an open circular wound that is probably, at most, an eigth of an inch in diameter right below my tailbone. *Thankfully* I have no pain, but do have discharge. I've been to the doctor, and he identified it as a pilonidal cyst. I was told the only option to get rid of it would be surgery, and it has a 0% chance of improving on its own. Since it is not infected, I was told to keep it clean, and if it gets infected, I should get surgery.

This doctor has mis-diagnosed MANY things. The only reason I saw him was because of my health insurance. I am currently in the process of switching doctors. I'm curious as to what the opinions of other people are. What should I do until I see my new doctor (this should be a few weeks.)
