I am a 26 years old male, I discovered my pilonidal cyst about 5 years ago when a small wound between the buttocks surrounded by lots of hair started to bleed. Then a large pimple appeared at the lower part of my back. I was so scared that I thought the best was to hide it !! (Don’t do it, it will never be away).
I started researching and found I had a pilonidal cyst from birth because I am extremely hairy !! I was so ashamed at college, with my boyfriend, could not use light color underwear. There were times with no blood or pain and others I could not even stand up !! Finally I decided to have surgery a month ago, I had it 3 days ago, it was a close wound surgery with drainage, fortunately the wound was smaller than I thought and there was no infection at a time I have some minor painkillers and I’m doing just fine, drainage its getting less liquid by the days, I’m supposed to get rid of it in 4 more days, a week later stiches will come off and 2 more weeks I should be as good as new Hope I can continue to tell how my case is evolving and it all ends in a happy story.
In the midtime I can tell no one has to deal with this as long as I did and surgery is the best choice. You may think it will go away, but it won’t !!
