Kate’s story

November 21, 2011

After the diagnosis I was told I will feel so much better after the removal of my pilondial abscess but instead it worsened. After the surgery the pressure on my butt remained or even became stronger -I was also running a fever, vomiting and feeling faint all the time.

My daily routine were visiting a surgeon who treated the huge inflamed open wound which caused me even more pain as it had to be stuffed brom bottom to top and there was so much blood and pus. I was scolded not to be so sensitive and that my pain is imagainative.haha Finally a doctor (had five in six day) realised that not the whole abscess had been removed which cause my tremendous pain and fever. So he removed the rest. Directly afterwards I felt so much lighter without all the pressure and thought this is it -now it will become better. But I was terribly wrong. On the weekend I was supposed to shower the wound myself and return to the doctor on monday. But yet again it hurt like hell showering the wound and changing the bandages all by myself. There was so much blood and pus and wound broke open even further… I was desperate -I am desperate. It is all inflamerd and the surgery has to be done again.

Today is only the third day after the second surgery or seventh after first but another one follows. I feel disgusted by myself and by spirit -just wishing this will finally end. But it is only the beginnign as the wound is still to heal after the next surgery…
