Cleft Lift

#1
I am very thankful to have found this forum! I have been dealing with pilonidal disease for 5 years. It first appeared in high school during my junior football season. Due to sports (football/baseball) I elected not to have the open excision surgery a local surgeon recommended. I have had ups and downs with the disease from going a couple months forgetting I had it before a flare up, to multiple flare ups a month. As of late, it has been multiple flare ups a month which led me here. I now have a cleft lift surgery scheduled with Dr. Immerman on February 8th! I will be traveling from southwest Missouri. Driving 4hrs to Kansas City then an hour and a half flight to Minneapolis. This will be my first surgery for the disease (and first surgery period). This forum has been extremely helpful and calmed my nerves. I was just wondering if there were any specific tips I should know going into this. I also have a job which involves a lot of driving so I was curious as to how you all have faired on long car rides after the surgery. I am nervous but excited at the same time! Thank you all in advance.

I’m having my surgery with him on Thursday! I’ll be posting a recovery log and will definitely give you any tips I come up with! Good luck and I think we both made the right choice choosing him!

I just had mine with Dr. Immerman yesterday and I was very nervous going in but it has been way easier than I had imagined. You dare in great hands with his team and you’ll feel great in no time!
