Extremely frustrated

#1
(Before I get into this, I'm new to the forums. I'm currently 19 years old and my dream is to become a professional wrestler, this issue is making it difficult to make these dreams a reality.) Hello everyone, I hope all is having a happy holiday. Please excuse my grammer as English and language arts has never been my cup of tea. I am incredibly frustrated with the amount of time that has been wasted with this issue. In January, my "sinus" got infected. I went to my doctor and he referred me to a colon and rectal surgeon. Basically all went well until it kept flaring up. I got surgery June 7th. All went well, until the incision opened up on July 4th. So here's the kicker, my doctor basically used silver nitrate and shaved it for $30 dollar co payments every week or so. As me and my parents grew frustrated we asked how this can be healed. He reffered us to a plastic surgeon. Very nice woman might I add. She told me that she'd do the CLEFT LIFT. I was incredibly pleased. I was so excited I actually didn't wanna sleep the night before surgery. So I got my surgery, only to wake up to the horror of the words "I actually did what your previous doctor did. " I was promised it was done more precisley and more thought was put into it. Well, three weeks later my staple "came" loose. It had to of been loose because I listened to every single instruction. Now here I am, early Christmas morning frustrated, confused and (I hate using this term) depressed. The doctor is now sending me to my previous doctor to get a scope in my rectum? Never read anything about that in this forum. I have to wait a "few months " to get ANOTHER surgery. Which is ridiculous, So basically what I am asking from my pilondial sisters and brethren, has anyone experienced a similar situation to this? Was a scope involved? When will this all end? I'm in Pennsylvania, so anyone know of experienced cleft lift doctors? I'm sick of this and I want my life back! Thank you to anyone who replies to this with any insight or feed back. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear you've gone through all that. That's awful that your previous doctor told you she was going to give you a cleft lift and then did something else. What a terrible breach of your trust and the patient-physician relationship. I work with doctors for my job and knowing how hard they work and how much they care about their patients, I can't believe someone would do that to you.

I definitely understand what you mean by depression (even though you hate to call it that.) I found out I had this problem 2 months ago and even though I got it taken care of relatively quickly, it still messed with my self-esteem, big time.

The good news is that I know for sure there are several surgeons in Pennsylvania who perform the cleft lift and have rave reviews on this site. One I believe is named Dr. Matthew Rosengart, and he is in Pittsburgh. People on here LOVE him. I'm not from PA, but even I knew his name off the top of my head and that people love him. Lol.

Anyway, hope you are able to enjoy your holidays and get this taken care of for good soon!

I am literally going through a similar thing right now, but more spaced out and I haven't gone to the doctor yet because I'm so disappointed with all of the nonanswers.

2012 was when I had my first pilonidal cyst. Went to the colon/rectal surgeon, had it lanced, and after healing I had the full cleft lift surgery. A few times in the years after the surgery I thought the scar was swelling and felt uncomfortable, but it always went away within a few days and nothing ever came out of the scar.

Last year, august 2015 it started hurting SO bad I went to urgent care and they said it was an ingrown hair on the scar. It went away a few days later and again nothing ever came out of the scar.

May of this year, I wake up in a small pool of my own as the cyst had burst in my sleep. I went to urgent care who sent me to the colon specialist and all he did was shave the area and told me to stop wearing yoga pants or other tight fitting clothing when I'm working out. I asked if this was going to keep happening to me, and he said most likely but figured it would be a once a year event since my experience in august 2015.

3 days ago my butt starts hurting again, its swelling and two nights ago it finally burst. The hole has never been this big on it's own but I can now see two follicles. If I go back to the same doctor he is just going to pack it and say he can't do anything because it's already excised itself outside of my body. I have a guy friend who just lets his burst on it's own everytime and just cleans it up. Is it even fricking worth going to a doctor?????????

please let me know what your new people say
