These are new surgeries, can't seem to find anyone in Australia performing Laser treatment :( have heard amazing things though.

My surgeon wants me to have the cleft lift. Have found one surgeon that conducts Endoscopy to manually remove the hairs with good prognosis, but need to wait out 7 months on my insurance. Has anyone had either or?

I had the laser. Personally I would wait if you can. The endoscopy will be much less invasive and worst case scenario you have to do it again or have the cleft lift later if it comes back. You may have success calling University hospitals and asking them or calling neolaser or whatever brand they use and see if they have a provider directory. Many colorectal surgeons already use these lasers for things like anal fistulas and will be familiar. Can't hurt to ask, that's how I got mine done! I was my surgeons first laser pilonidal and knew the risks and figured nothing to lose. He had already been doing the pit picking previously and used the laser for other procedures so it wasn't really a stretch. Now he does them all the time.

Good luck!

Thanks! I was just looking at another feed that you reported the doctor's name and location. It looks like we have a few feeds going about new procedure using laser treatment. I will read all the responses and then get back if I have further questions. Again, thanks

May I ask how much did Dr. Govekar charge you for your (presumably GIPS + laser) procedure?
