Pilonidal Closed Excision Long Heal Time?

Hey had a closed excision surgery about a year ago and a small part of my wound hasn't closed (1.4cm deep). Really frustrating me as healing's been stalled for past few weeks despite a calorie surplus, higher protein, vitamin C, zinc intake and lack of wound pressure (lying on my belly mostly). Nurses aren't sure what's causing it and neither is my surgeon, overall am just confused on how to proceed anyone have any advice or wound treatment recommendations? Apparently there's a lot of hypergranulation tissue forming which is slowing the procedure down.

Thanks

Hey man! Been there, done that. Tried to heal it for 6 months before I wised up and saw Dr. Immerman for a cleft lift. Worth every penny, and gave me my life back!

@Malboinen so is the cleft lift recommended for slow wound healing too not just for removal of the abscess/ fixing a poorly done surgery?

I also have a super slow healing wound, its been 6 months since my surgery.

After almost 8 months of slow healing after a closed excision, we recently took my son to Dr. Immerman for a cleft lift. Dr said he had some tunneling underneath his old incision.

Yes. The whole reason I went to go see Dr. Immerman was because I had the abscess removed, but the wound just would not heal (and Dr. Immerman said that the chances of it healing on it's own and staying closed were slim). I recommend it - make the trip, spend the money and get your life back.

Dr Immerman is in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. We traveled from St. Louis to see him and are very thankful we did!
