    Hey, 19 yo male here.

Had a surgery for pilonidal sinus to be removed 5 weeks ago. Didn't have a lump on my back and didn't really feel any pain, got the surgery 8 months after discovering the condition. Im not sure what exaclty is the procedure i had. It was a wound closed with stitches and it took two weeks until i wasn't feeling much pain and i got back to work. Two weeks ago i got back to my surgeon's office so he would take a look at the wound. He emphasized the importance of keeping the wound clean and said we wouldnt need any further meeting since everything looked okay.

But for around a week and a half or so at top of top of the wound there is a hole that is in my skin ( no on the wound part ). The top being toward the top of my buttcrack and the bottom is where the surgical wound ends, if that makes sense. Everytime i change underwear i have a little bit of blood dissolved in a clean liquid, sometimes it's more like a dense whitish liquid but it doesn't smell of anything, so it doesnt seem like pus.

What do you guys think ? I hope its not back already....

Hi, so I am experiencing a similar thing, and when I noticed it, I called my surgeon's emergency line and spoke to him. He wasn't concerned, but he let me come in to see him a couple of days later to get some reassurance and let him look at it so I could have some peace of mind. It sounds pretty much the same as what I am experiencing, the only difference is the color of the liquid so I don't know about that. Call your doctor if you are concerned and ask him if you can have him look at it. My doctor said that it is completely normal and is actually good because it is preventing an abscess from forming. Good luck, I hope this helps!

I just had the surgery done for a cyst on the top of my buttcrack so it can be one especially since you specified the presence of blood and pus ( pus doesn't always smell). You might have to go back to your surgeon's or atleast leave him a message and he will give you an accurate answer, pretty sure he would have to take a look at it to confirm, all the best tho, good luck.

I am for sure gonna call my surgeon this week. It looks a lot like the sinus i had, but i feel like it shouldnt have formed so quick. Well if its still there then ill be damned ahah.

Been taking two showers a day with a lot of cleaning in the area of the wound as well as taking out anything that couldve gone in the hole. I dont think its pus but who knows. If i saw my doctor two weeks ago and he said it was fine then i dont know if the sinus wouldve formed in two weeks.
