Hi, I’ve been having my wound packed for about 5 weeks now, and it’s at the point where I can’t fit anymore packing in. The granulation tissue has grown over, so the gap is closed, but the top layer of skin hasn’t grown yet or scabbed over it that makes sense.
I’ve got an appointment with a nurse tomorrow just to check it and advise me, but the nurses by me aren’t very knowledgeable. Does anybody know what kind of dressing I should be using now I’m not packing anymore? I’ve been using foam silicone but now there’s not really any exudate, just a tiny bit from where the dressing touches the wound, so I’m wondering whether I should be changing to a more breathable dressing.
