Laser hair removal post surgery

Has anyone here had a flap procedure (Limberg, Cleft Lift, Z-Plasty, etc) followed up by laser hair removal?

My surgeon has suggested that the lasering goes over the incision. I had my first session and I was surprised that it didn't go in between my cheeks very much.

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience.

Hi there - my son just had a follow up with his surgeon today (cleft lift was 12/06/23) and advised that laser hair removal could be helpful. He is excessively hairy, ugh. He also said the removal needs to be inside the cheeks, as that’s where the irritation (and the start of new pits :() ) is.

What kind of laser hai removal provider did you use? What was the experience like?

Wishing you (and everyone who’s reading this thread) good healing. Thx!

The hair removal provider is in the same health care network as my surgeon. Laser hair removal requires multiple sessions spaced weeks apart. My provider numbs the area for 30 min before the laser treatment. The actual lasering takes maybe 5 min? I do not find it painful.

Removing hair inside the cheeks makes sense and I am honestly surprised that this wasn't what happened at my first session. Doesn't make sense to me. When I asked about it further the surgeon said I could get the hair removed there if I would like.

Thanks - really helpful information. I finally found a dermatology office that offers laser removal & my son has a consultation this week to see if he’s considered a candidate. Wishing you smooth sailing with this process.

Out of curiosity, is your screen name to be interpreted as “diseased one “ or “disease done” ?? That D makes all the difference. Sending our best healing wishes in any case. :)
