Google the pilonidal treatment center in NJ. I can't afford to go there but maybe you can. They do laser ablation there. Sorry thought I replied alreadyDoes anyone know of US surgeons performing laser surgery or endoscopic ablation to destroy and collapse the sinus? Some promising data but I can only find European surgeons taking this new approach.
When you mention GIPS + laser is effective do you mean laser where it just removes the hairs on the outside of the skin or where it literally gets the hair in the actual cavity / under the skin? I know some like Dr. Morgan in Toronto do the latterJust wanted to update. Had mine done with Dr. Henry Govekar at Rush University Hospital in Chicago back in October. Couldn't be happier. Was back in work in a few days and could've gone sooner. Almost painless. Packed a few times a day but that didn't hurt either. No infection and no sign of recurrence so far! I was twilighted, not under general anesthesia but also don't remember it and didn't feel it. I was his first laser patient (he was interested and I requested that he try it out on me) and last I spoke to him he had done dozens more all with great results since. He's a colorectal surgeon not just a general surgeon and has experience with the laser from other procedures he'd been doing. I can't recommend him enough, he was kind and thorough and seemed to truly enjoy what he was doing. If anyone around Chicago needs theirs taken care of I'd give him a call. Drs that do the GIPS with laser are hard to find but the evidence is solid and it may be the most effective method overall case dependent. Rush was actually a pretty great hospital too except for the parking.
I wonder how that laser prevents the hairs from growing back on the inside of skin - I assume it's non-permanent hair removal. When you

Your cleft procedure failed? Damn. I've been dealing with this shit for like 10 yrs. Only recently realizing it's a pilonidal cyst. I'm trying to get in with a Dr in Philadelphia who is the only one around who does that procedure but my insurance is being difficult. I can't afford to use trial and error on various surgeries that put me out of work for months. I'll lose my job.
There's a place in NJ for laser treatment. Google pilonidal cyst NJ it should come right up. I don't have a convenient means of getting there and my insurance won't cover that since out of state.
Hey may I ask how much did Dr. Govekar charge you for your procedure?Just wanted to update. Had mine done with Dr. Henry Govekar at Rush University Hospital in Chicago back in October. Can I ask for details on why it failed? I’ve really only read good things about cleft lift but I do want to know the bad as well to weigh my options! Can you disclose the doctor and problem that happened, just for my own research, as I’m trying to find a solution for myself. In the same boat. I found 2 dr in LA, one specifically in Beverly Hills that do the laser treatment. Wanted to charge 300-500$ for the consultation
