Friends,

I have been suffering from Pilonidal Sinus from 4 years now. Went under 1st excision surgery in November 2015 . Wound did not heal & stated bleeding and I have to go for second surgery in July 2016, this time wound was stitched. My would healed after long gap for some time but again burst in July 2018, may be because I stated gym ( just my guess)and this time it was very painful. I was unable to sit and this was causing problem in my official and well as personal life. I used to feel very tired and depressed. Because of this pain I was unable to sit in proper posture and I started having lower back pain.
After doing lot of research, I am planning to go for Kshar sutra treatment. I have found a doctor in Bangalore and met him last Saturday, Doctor informed me that wound is full of abscess and he will see me again once the wound will dry . He gave me few medicines to dry the wound. Although I don't believe in Ayurveda treatment, to my surprise after taking medicine for single day only, discharge of abscess and blood is reduced and my severe pain has gone. I met few people in the hospital who were very much satisfied from the treatment. I am again going to meet the doctor again on 18th August for understanding the further course of action. will keep you guys updated. I understand many people are frustrated from similar situation. friends please keep the spirits high and we will find a solution for this problem. Will update soon.

Hi, when I was going through the excision surgery, the guy who used do to my dressing told me that there is an Ayurvedic Treatment for it. They put some thread inside and he said that it does not come back with that treatment and as I was having surgery in a govt. hospital he also added that "it costs a lot of money and mostly rich people have this treatment", so please keep updating about your treatment.

Met with Doctor last Saturday. Doctor informed that cost of treatment would be around Rs. 50,000 (US $ 720) which I felt is too high according to the infrastructure of hospital. Also it is not sure weather it will be reimbursed from the insurance company. Although Doctor looked confident that my wound will cure in 3 months. Met with a lady (Foreigner) in the hospital who is getting treatment from same doctor for pilo and fistula. She said that she underwent kshar sutra treatment and wound is about to heal. She gave positive remarks about the doctor.

I underwent kshar sutra treatment 2 weeks back and on recovery now.
Hi, please share your experience of kshar sutra treatment and recovery. How much time you were on bed after treatment and after how many days you will be able to work again? Did they cut any tissues? Also, what was the total cost of treatment?
I had excision surgery in May as I have mentioned above. I might have to go for surgery again so I am thinking about going for kshar sutra this time.

Hi,

I spent around 48k which I know is on higher side. I went to Dr. Ramesh Bhat in vijay nagar. He has many foreigner patients. I could have approached other Ayurveda hospitals which are cheap but I did not want to take chances as this was my 3rd surgery. I took 1 week of leave from office for rest. Although it is quite difficult to sit for 10-12 days. post care is less painful than open excision surgery.
