After reading everybodies stories i feel the need to share my story, hoping that it might make me feel better or possibly help someone else suffering from this disease. about the age of 21 i had the sensation of growing a tail, embarrased by the situation i delayed seeking medical attention untill the pain become unbearable. it went to the doctor who told me to get to the hospital right away. after lying in a hospital bed for more than 2 days waiting for surgery(I was in so much pain) i finally had the surgery and instantly the next morning i felt so much better. i had it packed and which had to be redone daily (very Painful.) after about 3 years after my first operation i started to have flare ups and have been living with it for about 4 years. i have had it lanced approx 6 times, taken endless amounts of antibiotics.
It kept coming back aprrox every 2-3 weeks where it would flare up and the pain would almost kill me. it would then explode. this has happened probably 30 times in the past four years. learning to live with the pain i recently had a flare up that did not explode, it got bigger and bigger, and made me so extremely sick, feeling toxins through my legs etc, nothing in my life has been that painful, and i have caused some pretty serious injuries to myself. i went to emergency where they put me on pain killers and happy gas and lanced it again, the doctor told me the sbcess was the size of a tennis ball on the base of my tailbone. 2 weeks later it came back – i went to the surgeon and had surgery to try to remove it, i instantly felt better and had no pain the next morning. i now am booked tommorrow morning for a cleft lift operation to basically reshape my butt crack and hopefully rid my body of this horrible horrible problem ( I call it the devils disease) to any body who cares or who is reading this polinidal at its peak is the most severe pain a human being can endure. ( i have had three fingers cut of and resewn and the pain didnt even come close) – good luck to anyone looking to seek a fix to their problem and good luck to those who are choosing to live with it. thanks for reading.
