Craig’s story

November 28, 2015

I will start out by saying I am a 46 year old Male who is not Harry and the Hendersons hairy but I have more then the average guy I guess.

My first encounter was when I was about 22 years old I started noticing pain right by my tailbone, I lived with it for about a year it would come and go, I had no bleeding or anything but was just uncomfortable. About a year latter it got worse became more frequent was getting bigger and then started to have discharge.

To say the least I am not a fan of doctors so I waited and waited, I finally went in to my doctor and say I may have a little problem here. She looked at it and basically said Oh my god you need this fixed right away you can die from this, well next thing I know the next day I was in surgery I was put under when I awoke I come to find a large section of my rear end had been cut away.

They left it as an open wound and I had to pack it day after day after day. I cant remember how long it took to heal (this was over 20 years ago) After I healed I got back to living my life normal never thought about it again.

Now we are 20 some odd years latter and about 2 years ago started having the same issues was sore in the rear end again but this time I noticed it would get worse as I would gain more weight, so I did the best I could to keep weight off well that didn’t go so well I started having discharged about a year ago it would come and go come and go. I knew what the end was going to be another surgery, I was putting it off and putting it off, until my wife said you are done go get surgery.

So I am sitting here 12 days after my surgery this time I was sewn up (Doctor says that’s how they do it now they don’t leave them open anymore?) Now I have to change my padding about 3 times a day from bleeding and discharge, and I am more sore then I was 13 days ago.I sit for a long time for work (12 hr days)

All I can think about will this pain ever go away and am I going to be in this same position 20 years from now. I just hope I heal fast and get back to my life.
