Emily’s story

April 1, 2015

I am still a teenager and this is my second cyst removal. I was brought to the hospital about a month ago due to severe back pain again they put me into immediate surgery. I ended up being in the hospital for 8 days and I have a 4 inch deep incision that is unpacked, cleaned, and packed daily. My surgeon told me this is definitely a very unfortunate case. It is very painful but I am trying to get through it again. Last time I got the cyst removed the displaced stitches broke and it also had to be packed and unpacked daily. It took a little over a year and a half for it to close last time, hopefully it will close faster this time so I can go back to school this year. I am going back to the hospital every few days so he can check up on it. They recently came out with a new packing material that promotes healing and that is what they are using on me. I’m hoping something good is going to come out of this.
