Hey everyone! Just thought I should share this story.
Pretty interesting and funny, and I thought it would bring some light to the situation if anyone is struggling through it (like I was). So here we go! Two weeks ago, I woke up with extreme pain which ended up being the abscess created from he cyst. I wasn’t sure if it was MRSA at the time so I went along with it. The pain got so bad to where I needed to get it looked at by my college’s health center. That morning I walked over to get it looked at, and the doctor said (mind you – I had just woken up), “I need to operate right now.” I double-took and was absolutely stunned, terrified, and ready for extreme pain.
I texted my mother with my ass out on the doctor’s bed ready to go what was happening, and she said to just go with it… no big deal. Well… the doctor gave me 4 novocaine shots because 3 wasn’t enough! They hurt more than him cutting it open! All in all, when a college health center offers to operate on you, make sure they know what the hell they are doing, haha! The college doctor packed it after lancing and took it out the next day which (honestly) hurt more than the scalpel… but it was for 5 seconds, so not a problem. He wanted me to get up and start walking out right away, but clearly pain isn’t a thing anymore… I needed to schedule a surgery to remove the entirety of the cyst.
Now, in loom of finals week (this week), this was NOT something I could afford dealing with. Fast forward four days later, and I have about 13 stitches up my ass and experiencing the worst pain in my entire life (once the numbing went away after the surgery). I have a high pain tolerance, but this was just ridiculous. After going through 48 hours of hell, I could finally move my legs in a semi-normal way so I could walk. It is now two weeks later. I am stronger emotionally and with pain, and I get my stitches out this Monday.
I stood through all of my final exams (it sounds awful: it was). But here I am, home ready for Christmas with stitches up my ass. But that’s okay, I am on the other side now and you come out a hell of a lot stronger. I forgot to mention, halfway through the stitch-healing process, one of them ripped (ouch). It has bled every single day and it is a pain in the ass (pun intended). But it is slowing down slowly but surely, and now that I am home I can take epsom salt baths and allow the wound to soak and heal (which feels soooo amazing)!
I get my stitches out in a few days, and cannot wait to finish this thing once and for all.
