Hi, I am 20 year old female from Eastern Europe (not the best place to get sick). My first cyst flare up occured on March 2012. I went to my doctor and he said that it was an abscess. Nurse cleaned it from puss whitout any anestesia (I tried my best to hold back screams) and told me to go to the clinic to cut it open and drain it.
I went there the very same day and the surgeon told me to get to the hospital – she even called the ER car to get me there. I was very scared, because my questions which I asked all the time wasnt answered – here are so little doctors and so many sick people, that they simply didnt have any time to consult me about my condition. When I was in car, they were very kind and tried to help me to walk, but I didnt need it – I went about 6 km to clinic by foot. By surprise for me, I had my surgery (my first one) that very same evening. It went good, but there was a lot of pus – blood on my underwear and on sheets. I spent 3 days in hospital, the healing went good. I still didnt know what exacly was it until I got my diagnosis papers – I started to search for information on internet even before I was out from hospital. In hospital my wounds (I had 2 cuts on each side of my buttocks) were cleaned and checked by surgeon.
I actually didnt feel ashamed by getting examined by male doctors, because I am sure they have seen much worse things than my ass (which doesnt look so bad after all). After discharging I had to go to change my dressings every day, but its 4km so my roommate (vetenary student) did it herself. It healed perfectly. I was advised to have a surgery for it, because they said there is about 40% for me, that it would come back during my lifetime. Right now I feel completely ok and I dont have any problems with sitting. I am cautious about what I do, I dont do push-ups on hard floor, I dont do fight sports anymore, but I try to keep myself phisicly active. I hope its not going to come back until I find time and money for surgery.
