Jessica’s story

January 25, 2012

It will be 3 months exactly tomorrow from my surgery date. I only feel pain when I sit in a hard chair for a long period of time. I do have these two holes that keep opening and closing back there. Lately they have been open for about a week and they keep draining. Sometimes it is just straight blood and sometimes it is puss, and sometimes it is a mixture. I don’t have a fever and the area isn’t sensitive, so my doctor says it isn’t infected. It is just pushing out all the fluid, since I had a primary closure procedure. I keep wondering what to do to help it close completely, for good! I have tried airing it out every time after I shower, taking baths with Epsom salt, and putting a gauze pad on it. The holes look smaller from what my husband says, but they are still open. Sometimes it is so easy to lose hope thinking the worst is going to happen, but really that is all we have in this type of situation, hope. I don’t know if this is normal, my doctor says it is, but I am not sure what to do??? Like I have said in my previous posts he has great experience in this, who else can I trust?
