Hi everyone, I am currently on day 3 post surgery. I’m a 25 yr old female with a chronic autoimmune disease.
So far I haven’t felt much pain post surgery unless I accidentally lean on the wound. My wound was left opened, and I have to change the bandages at least twice a day. My wound isn’t too large, it just drains a lot and through the packing. I haven’t had a BM yet, but I haven’t been eating much either.
Since the surgery on Tuesday I’ve been extremely nauseous after a pain pill, applesauce, even a sip of water so I called my surgeon and he prescribed an anti-emetic. That has helped to where I finished a container of applesauce and are a few ritz crackers. I’ve been taking Colace hoping for something, but nothing. So hopefully by tomorrow I will have been able to relieve myself.
As far as the surgery… I remember post op and being wheeled into the OR, the nurse telling me they would need to set another IV port because the original one was in an inconvenient place, I helped hold the mask on my face and the next thing I was waking up throwing up on my way to recovery, then I remember being handed crackers and ginger ale while sitting in a recliner and looking around and no one was in the recovery chairs anywhere.
