?Well, I?m finally all healed! It has been a long road but there is an end to it all. Had my last follow up appointment at the hospital and was discharged. Everything is all healed nicely. Now I?ve just got to keep it that way. For those who haven?t read my earlier entries I?m a 23 year old NZ European male. I had my first cleft lift operation November last year (2011) and the second in May (2012). I?ll be sure to provide a follow up post in a few months [WALL OF TEXT FROM MY PREVIOUS POST ON PAGE 3] Hello everyone, here is my much delayed response to my previous posting from five months ago. I am doing great and haven?t had any problems. I have had my first treatment of laser hair removal and will need a few more sessions. This is more or less the final step of the process. The scar is looking good. It goes right down my backside (just off centre) and is probably 6 or so inches long. Everything has just gone right this time around with the wound (closed healing with stitches and drain). I never thought I?d get to say this but I am back into cycling again. I?m doing 40 minute bike rides once a week and not having any difficulty. I do find I?ll have a somewhat tender backside the next day but other than that no problem. I?m able to comfortably jog 20 minutes daily and even run. Bending down isn?t an issue anymore. I do stretch every night before bed and this has helped me immensely. I?m lifting with dumbbells and I?ve got my physical strength back. I can do sit-ups but need to do them on a pillow for comfort. This may come across as somewhat mundane tasks but having been less active during the period of my operations than I would have liked it is great to be back to normal. I?m maintaining my healthy diet and drinking lots of water/the odd cup of green tea. I may follow up again later in the year just to let you all know how I?m getting on.
