Lori’s story

July 5, 2012

I have to admit I thought I was the only one with this condition. The first time I got it I was about 16 or 17. All I felt was a huge bump and a lot of pain. I was to embarrassed to tell anyone (even my mom) so I just let it go and dealt with the pain. I was driving with my sister one day to the mall and she hit a pothole and BAM it burst and felt better instantly! As soon as we got into the mall I ran to the bathroom and saw blood and puss in my underwear. i cleaned it with tissues and I think i threw on a maxipad and went on my way.

About 5 years later I was newly pregnant with my first child when i got it again. this time it was way to painful and Had to go to the ER. They told me what it was and it is most common in young men not woman(which made me feel like a pos) and they couldnt do anything just take warm baths and warm compresses and sent me home. about a week later it was twice as big and I was in 100% more pain so I went back to the ER. They once again said they couldnt do anything but I made them drain it. Being pregnant I could not get anything for the pain not even anesthesia! But I didnt care I was in that much pain I told them to just drain it. It hasn’t come back in 9 years!! And now out of nowhere I feel I am getting it again. I feel a small bump and a small amount of pain. I will not hesitate to get surgery this time around if it turns in to a full blown abscess. I Never want to have that pain again!!

Good luck to anyone who is going though the same thing.
