Margot’s story

August 5, 2012

Just found this forum. Who would have guessed there was a forum discussing these damn cysts. I can relate to most of these stories but have not had the surgery. I should have had it done long ago but it is embarrassing and don’t have time to deal with the recovery time.

Mi am now in my 60’s and have dealt with since High School. I have learned that prolonged sitting, wearing Jeans ( due to the back seam) will aggravate it. It accessed once bad enough it had to be lanced. That hurt like Hell! The thing that helps me the most is taking hit showers or baths to bring it to a head so it will drain. If I feel it getting irritated at all I immediately apply OTC cortisone cream which usually helps. I will add there must be a strong hereditary factor as my father had one (operated on twice) I have one and 2 of my 3 children have these cysts.

My one son had surgery on his a couple of years ago.
