Samuel K.’s story

September 17, 2011

I have been suffering with a Pilonidal cyst for a year and a half now. I remember the first time I noticed it. I went to my local ER and they lanced it and drained the infection out and gave me antibiotics for it. They also told me to soak in warm water in the bathtub.

Well I did exactly as I was told. But needless to say it got infected again and came back. I went to my doctor the second time it got worst and infected. She suggested surgery. So, I ended up meeting with a local surgeon and he took a look at it and decided to lance it again but go deeper this time than the hospital went. He packed the wound and gave me pain meds and sent me home with instructions. I had a follow up appointment with the surgeon and at my follow up appointment he decided that I was ready for surgery. I had my surgery scheduled.

I have surgery on the 22nd of this month. I am kinda scared but not overly scared. If you know what I mean. I hope that my surgery goes alright and that this cyst doesn’t come back again.
