Sara’s story

December 13, 2013

I am a 20 year old female. I discovered my pilonidal abscess on Oct. 3, 2013. It was drained and packed for two days. When I went to get it repacked, they said it as no longer necessary. I saw a proctologist who recommended that I have the cyst excised.

My surgery was yesterday, Dec. 12th. I was very nervous but I felt no pain during (as I was knocked out) and even after. There has been no pain since, just soreness and a little discomfort because it feels like I’m wearing a pamper. Later on today, my mother will assist me with changing the bandage and gauze and repack the wound. This, I am not excited for. Wish me luck!
