Shannon’s story

April 18, 2013

I am a 17 year old girl. I first discovered my pilonidal cyst this past December and since then have had it lanced 3 times! I saw a surgeon to see about a permanent solution (surgery) and he does not recommend it and believes it will cause even more problems. I don’t know what to do anymore because I take 8 dance classes a week and I feel as though every time I do extreme physical activity the cyst gets inflamed again and I am back in the hospital getting it lanced.

I hate being paranoid about the cyst coming back all the time and am constantly worrying about it coming back every single day!!
