Shelbi’s story

September 16, 2011

After dealing with my pilonidal cyst for about 8 months, I finally got up the courage to go to the doctor and just had surgery (a complete excision) about two days ago. The tracking was a lot more extensive than he originally thought and therefore required more tissue to be removed but luckily, there wasn’t any infection so he decided topstitch me up. He did it in layers to ensure that there were no pockets left behind; it ended up being about 60 stitches in all.

However, I’m two days post op and hardly in any pain. I would highly recommend surgery to anyone suffering with this condition.
