Bracken’s story

March 22, 2011

First off i’d like to say that i’m thrilled that a community like this exists, for years I thought I was the only one. As a PC can be pretty embarrassing i kinda kept it to myself and dealt with the pain, discomfort, ruined pairs of pants etc…

Anyway, i’m 29 now and have had this problem for about 10 years or so and normally when it would flare up it would drain on its own after awhile. A few times a year it would flare up. While uncomfortable I didn’t have insurance so I considered going to the doctors a non-option. A few days ago I finally got the it taken care of (i hope) for good. I forget the name of the procedure but it was drained and gauze is being packed in every other day. Still sore but it feels much better than swollen and red.

Since i just got it diagnosed officially and know what it is I was able to google it and came across this site which i wish i found years ago. Its great for people to know that they are not alone and to not feel as embarrassed about a problem that many others have. I hope everyone with this problem finds relief in one way or another.
