At this time I am suffering from my 3rd “flair up” in aprox 15 months!! I am at my wits end….I have not seen a Dr about this so far as I have no health insurance!!! However this time I’m 4 days into the “flair up” and the pain is excruciating!!! The lump is the size of a golf ball and the swelling under it feels like it is the size of an orange. I cannot sit or lay down or bend over with out literally having to scream out in pain.
My “abcess” has never drained…never in the 2 previous times has anything drained from it. It just swells up and becomes very red,large and very hard. It’s like sitting on a rock!!! I finally broke down and called a surgeon today whom says he treats these on a regular basis!!! He will see me in the office for an exam which cost $132 (INDIANA) any lancing/surgery will be add’l of course. However, insurance or not the pain and misery have wore me down this time. I cannot endure this anylonger!!!
This site gave me the courage to finally call….to know that so many other people truely understand the embarassment, pain, and depression this disease causes has been a great blessing. I really felt alone in dealing with this!!! Without this website I would still be crying and feeling alone.
Thank you for the support and personal stories your site offers. So off to the surgeonsI go in 26 hours and I am praying for relief. I will update …my progress after my appointment.
