Bridgette’s story

December 12, 2015

Hi I’ve just discovered this site & it’s such a relief to find so many other people like myself!

I’ve always suffered with abscesses (no clue why!!) but my pilonidal cyst popped up when I was around 19. In the space of a year I had surgery FIVE times which was mentally and physically exhausting as it was getting dressed and packed for at least 5 weeks!!

It’s been around 11 months since the last surgery & it appeared AGAIN about 3 weeks ago. Finally went to doctors 4 nights ago & got referred to the hospital.. The doctor actually just sliced it open there & then I couldn’t believe it!! Normally I need to go under anesthetic it hurt like hell but thank god no packing just dressings & they said the pain should be OK a few hours later but it’ll take a few days for everything to come out of it.

Well the pain is still unbearable & its scabbed over so just bleeding now, I give it a week before it comes back all together I’m distraught with it now & really considering getting the big op where they cut out the tunnel/tract has anybody had this done?

Thanks for taking the time to read, Bridgette.
