Cait’s story

January 2, 2013

I’m a 14 year old female. I had surgery for mine on the 10th of December a few weeks ago. This started a couple days before I was supposed to go off for a trip to the jersey shore with 3 of my really close friends. I had to have it drained at one of the hospitals at the shore.

She was honestly terrible. She had me lay on my stomach, and obviously didn’t clean it well. It hurt so bad. like, excruciating as you all know. I couldn’t do a whole lot on my vacation and I was constantly taking pain killers and anti-biotics because of the pain. It became inflamed again on labor day. This time, it inflamed faster and hurt way worse. But, I was in Pennsylvania, hours away from my home in Sussex, New Jersey. So, i was forced to wade it out until i got home.I didn’t tell my parents, only my younger brother. I didn’t express any pain when I was near them. So they had no idea. I’m very good with pain. I mean, it hurt. I couldn’t sleep, lay down, sit, move, stand, basically nothing.

Then when I went to the hospital, the same day I got home, after I told my mom. I had to sit in the waiting room for hours. Then, to my surprise, I literally had the cutest doctor. Ever. Beautiful blue eyes, I was so upset. He had to cut open my butt. God, that was terrible. Then when school started, I couldn’t play field hockey, or anything because I was supposed to have surgery and they didn’t want it to inflame again. That sucked! I had my surgery, like I said, the 10th. I’m out of gym til January 20th.I didn’t feel much pain the first or second day.

The rest of the days were horrible. My pain didn’t start letting down until about a week or 2 after my surgery. The whole side of my dad’s family has had this. My dad’s was terrible. And honestly, his scar is something nobody should have to see. They stitched the top of his crack. From the very top til about 2 maybe 3 inches down. When I heard they had stitched me up, all I could picture was my dad’s image.

Thankfully everything turned out fine 🙂 I can’t sit for very long, but I just stand up and walk around for a minute or two.

And that’s my story 🙂 good luck to all of ya’ll!
