Christina’s story

April 6, 2014

Hi, My 15 year old daughter had surgery a week ago to have the cyst removed. I didn’t do much research, but trusted the doctors word. He said the sooner the surgery, the better she would be. After surgery, the doctor told me everything went great and he was able to close the incision. I was under the impression that was the better part and she would have a speedy recovery. He said she would be sore for a few days, and should be good to go after three weeks. It has been six days, and it seems like her pain gets worse everyday. Today she noticed that it is draining. I checked it, and sure enough it is separating. She had the first set of stitches removed on day four, and expected to get the other seven removed on day ten. I called him and he said everything was normal and to keep the area clean with soap and water. It is later in the evening, we checked again and it is bleeding a little more. I am a paranoid mother! Should I be worried about this? Get a second opinion? Am I over reacting? Please e-mail your responses to acellis85@gmail.com. It is much appreciated. Thanks
