In 2006 I no tr iced a small painful pimple on my tailbone right in my crack. I left it alone for about a week and then as I was getting out of the tub it busted. Blood everywhere so I went to the dr. where he lanced and packed it.
About 2 months later I was told that it was infected. I was put under for a pilonidal cyst excision and hospitalized for 3 days after the surgery. Since then I have had 7 more of the same surgery because it keeps getting infected and the wound won’t close up. they put a wound vac (a machine that sucks the infection out of the wound) on it but that didn’t work because it kept leaking because of the location of the wound. I had wound care and home health care for about a year when they said that it was as small as it was going to get.
That was in 2010. since then I’ve had occasional pain and drainage that lasted for a day or 2 but went away quickly. now the pain and drainage started up again and it’s been about a week and it hasn’t went away. it’s so painful that it hurts to sit. I’m thinking about going to the hospital because I made an appointment but it’s 2 weeks away and I don’t think I can wait that long. I’m thinking they’re going to have to do the surgery again and I’m not scared I’m just irritated with it and I’m ready for it to end. this has been going on for almost 7 years and I’m just tired of it it’s a pain in the butt (lirerally).Now the pain and drainage started up again, and it’s been about a week, and it hasn’t gone
