In December 2010 I was only 13 and I noticed it kind of hurt to sit. I took a look and there was this little spot that looked like a purple bruise! I went with it for a while when a bump started to form there and it drained! Unlike a lot of the stories I’ve read here, I didn’t have really any pain! It was uncomfortable to sit but it wasn’t really painful. My mom once had tried to pop it like a pimple but i ended up almost fainting! What a lovely christmas eve day that was!!
I went through a couple of doctors and appointments when I was lead to a surgeon. When he looked at it, he looked lower than where my spot was which confused me. He showed my mom that there were these two other holes that lead to a cavity. He pulled out one of the hairs from the hole ( D: painful)! He said my only choice was to get surgery but it was my choice when since he claimed it wuld stay the same.
We scheduled it for my first day of summer! The surgery wasn’t bad at all!! What was bad was the day after when we took out the packing from surgery! My mom and dad wuld try to pull out the packing but it hurt me so much, we ended up going to the ER! After that painful adventure, the days after I had really no pain. I soaked everyday and a month later he told us to pack it. A month after that I was involved with marching band and that didn’t help!
School started up, p.e. didn’t help either! I ha to have surety again in January! (dreading the day after surgery) having to explain this to my friends wasn’t easy! After surgery I had a little more pain than last time but a week after surgery we wet to a wound care center, that helped a lot!! We emidiately packed it and was soaking and it was doing good! Took a couple of months to completely heal but my doctor told me just a couple of weeks ago I was healed! I was happy! Then only days later it started to hurt a little! And drain!
Thankfully there was no cyst popping up but I was afraid it was back!!! But now I don’t think that’s the case! Thank to this site, once I experienced pain, I put gauze over it and am cleaning it everyday! After two days, no pain. Still draining a little bit but now I’m careful about what I do so I don’t strain it and I’m doing a lot better!!! 🙂 Hopefully, it stays away!!
