Jay S’s story

June 7, 2011

Well, it started very simply. When I sat I got a bad pain, I didn’t think much of it because I had slept weird the night before so I had thought it was just from that. Then each day it got worse, it hurt to sit, stand or lay down. My mom thought it was just a bruise or muscle pain so she kept pushing advil which i refused to take.

Finally a week or so after it started hurting it started leaking. So off to the doctors, and hello liquid anti-biotics (i am unable to swollow pills). At the time my doctor did not give us a name for what I had, she just said it was a cyst. They gave me an ultrasound to see how far done it went, but could not see from that test. They then took an MRI, confiriming it didn’t go as far as my spine so unless it got infected again there was no point in surgery.

Five months later another infection came up, so they decided to book my surgery. When we met with the doctor again that is when she told me exactly what it was i had. So a month went by and it was close to surgery day, but that was put on hold due to another infection. My surgery is now just a few weeks away.
