Hello Im John 25 yo Male 105 kg 184 cm high My Pilonidal sinus Inflated in Jan 2011 Following a Trip over seas. Cause: I Used “Nair”, Hair removal cream ALLL over my body before the vacation and after 2 weeks I had Maaassssss amount of ingrown hair all over my body. ( Last time I did and ever would) I’ve drained the first time using a blade, it was easy to do because It was VREY close to the surface. It might get infected so dont do it until you’ve seen your doctor.
The pain was the worst Pain I experienced and couldnt sleep for 2 nights until I had enough courage to take a stab at my Sinus. My Sinus settled to a little hole which started oozing on hotter days and when I sat for long periods of time. It was early 2012 when my sinus’s hole closed up and the hole sinus started to inf late. The Pain got worst than the first time, It felt like the sinus grow more towards my spine, I tried to stab the sinus empty but no luck, the sinus was too deep. I had it drained at the hospital, where I decided to have a surgery.
My Sinus was not like any you would see on googole or youtube, it had only a small hole and VERY smalllll pits. I was VERY scared of the surgery, Because it was my first time. I am writing this on the 20th of August 2012, and I have been discharged out of the hospital 2 hours ago. I had a lumberg Flap repair under general anesthetic on the 16th of August and stayed at hospital until two hours ago. I experienced NO Pain what so ever. I am being Perfectly honest. If you’re scared for the surgery, trust me its only scary until the anestetic doctors put you down, after that its all fun with morphine injections and Endone pills. 😀 I resisted peer pressure in high school to do drugs not even weed, But the past few days, was really fun. My family and friends were mostly busy so I entertained my self by watching seasons 2,3,4 of The Office in hospital. I was sleeping most of the night and almost half of the day.
So Trust me, its scary but so far, no pain, the stitching feels like somebody is holding a finger with a constant pressure on my bottox, I have delt with it and I am only on panadol since yesterday.. I thought the surgeon used long term local anesthetic but he assured me it would’ve worn of after two hours after surgery.
So don’t be scared, be prepared to be drugged up. To me it was a nice vacation from our usual hectic life. Now 2 hours after being discharged I just emptied my bowl like I used to. One more thing, Be careful of the Drainage pipe, dont forget its attached to you, One night in the Hospital as I got up to go to the toilet and I forgot it was attached to me, so I started walking and the drainage bag hooked to the side of the bed and the pipe attaching my butt to the bag came apart half way and I left a trail of blood to the toilet, I only realised what happend after I got to the toilet and I turned around to close the door. Uhh and going to the toilet is easy just sit and push, the stitches are NOT on your Anus, its generously spaced to give you enough access to “go”.
