Kelly’s story

October 8, 2013

It’s now been 6 days since my surgery and I thought I would tell people my experience for what it’s worth. It turns out they cut far more out of me than I imagined. My wound size is 10cm, 5cm, 3cm. I have seen a photo and to say I was shocked would be an understatement.

I can not sit down or stand for long. The pain is bearable most of the time but I have to admit it takes over me every now and again. The packing is not as terrible or painful as I thought it would be put is no picnic. I hate that this has had to been done to me but honestly is better than living with the pilonidal long term. I just hope it heals quickly and I never get another. To be fair they have cut away most of my butt so not really much chance of another.
