Like most of you i started looking on this website last nivember when i got my first flare up, mine was so bad i couldnt sit down, and could barely walk. its finally opened up and drained itself. it came and went every month/ every other month for about 6 months. when it did get the flare up it would be really bad, like a big golf ball at the end of my tail bone right between my cheeks. was purple and gross. when it drained it would drain for hours at a time and be the worst smell ever!….
finally on april 30th 2010 i went thru with the surgery. took about 45 mins, they cut me open and took out all the stuff that was in there. when i woke up there was a hole about 3 inches wide and 5 inches deep, IT WAS HUGE!!!!( have pics just ask!!)….they had attached a small wound vac to the area that i wore for about 6 weeks. that sucked everything to the top and into the vac without me having to clean and pack the hold every day.(thank god) the hole took about 4-5 months to FINALLY close up completely… its still sore from time to time but it hasnt come back so far….. if you have any questions about this feel free to contact me….i went thru alot and i know how you feel….
