Lyndie’s story

February 19, 2012

I developed my cyst 12 years ago. It started as a small bump for a little while, then overnight is grew to the size of a golfball. My mother, who was a CNA thought it was a bone spur of my tailing because I had been playing softball and sliding on bases. I saw 3 male doctors the next day, I was an embarassed 12 year old.

Finally a surgeon put me on powerful antibiotics and told us to call if it got worse. The swelling and inflammation resolved. Years later, after frequent pain with sitting I had a consult with a different surgeon. He told me that he didn’t want to operate until a sinus developed. Well I have never had the cyst open and drain. It continues to be a large, firm and painful lump. I have read about chances of carcinoma. That scares the crap out of me. I am considering getting another opinion. It has worsened the past two days.
