I just had my cyst lanced this afternoon. This is the second time I have had this done in the past three years. I have a large family with five sisters and it is amazing to me that they have all had the same problem. Because I am a male and have more hair in the area, the doctors have told me that the probability of the cyst coming back is high.
After the first lancing, I was good to go for almost three years with only one minor flair up that healed on its own within a week. Today I had to go back to the surgeon as it has been infected for the past week and showed no signs of healing on its own. I was told by the surgeon that there is a good chance it will come back again unless I undergo a larger surgery where I would have to be put to sleep.
I have never had that done before and was a little nervous, so I opted for him to drain for the second time. The worst part is when I have to pull out the gauze with no pain killers. I feel so bad for people that have to deal with this problem, I understand that those over forty years old have a much lower chance of flair ups.
