I have been battling this affliction for about 25 yrs. now (I’m 51). Only a burn victim can relate to this pain. Due to other health issues, I have been a workaholic & couch potato for the past 3 years. In that time, I had no flare ups. This confirms the fact that trauma to the area is the culprit for me.
I recently joined a gym and after my 2nd day on the bike I knew I was probably asking for trouble. Sure enough, that night BAM! I remembered what I did the last time and tried it again. Here is what works very effectively for me: At the sign of the lst itch, wash the area with peroxide on a cotton square. After it dries, apply calendula ointment (I use Washington Homeopathics brand and would stay with only the BEST homeopathic quality to be effective).
Do this at least 3 times a day. AFter the lst day of this treatment, it is going away before it becomes painful. Since it is very difficult to find a doctor that is not a sadist I always try alternative medicine lst. This treatment works great for me. Heads off the pain before it starts.
