When I was 15 years old, I started feeling pain right at on my tail bone whenever I would sit or lay down on my back. I thought it was nothing at first because it would come and go. I would feel it for a week or 2 and then it would go away. Then a month later I’d fell it again, and it would go away.
When I finally decided to tell my mother about the pain, she suggested I put a heated pad on it. Which, I believe, caused it to turn into a huge boil. I was stuck in bed for a week because I didn’t want to have it lanced. When it finally popped, my mom took me to the doctor. The doctor told me I had a Pilonidal Cyst, and the only way to get rid of it was to have surgery. So of cousre, I decided to do it.
After the surgery, everything seem fine. Then about a year later, I started to feel an all to familure pain on my tail bone again. By this time we had moved to another state. So I could see my same surgen. So I saw a PA, and he recommended that it was not a good idea for me to have another surgery.
So once again, month after month, it woulf flair up and bust. I had a hard time believeing I had to live the rest of my life like this, so I decided to get a second opinion, from the surgen this time, who did recommend I have the surgery again. So, it has been 3 weeks since I had my surgery. Its healed great up top, but I’m having some problems down in the bottom. I have had some seromas, but my doctor doesn’t seem too concerned.
All I can do now is hope and pray everything works out alright.
