While the beginning of my journey was in the second week of December of 2011. I’m only thirteen so I was at school at the time. I knew something was wrong because when ever I sat or put pressure on my bottom I would be in an aching sharp pain.
I had told my mom but she thought that it was growing pains or menstrual cramps. So I put it of for that day and went to help sellcandy at the high school basketball game with my friends. The whole time in pain I wanted to go home but my friends wanted to their house and watch movies so I went with, still in pain. Here’s where it gets a little gross, so I got home from watching movies and went to the bathroom. When whiping I saw blood and a puss like goo ontthe toilet paper. I looked In the mirror to find a dime sized zit like thing at the very beginning of my butt crack.
I showed my mom and she did her motherly freak out and we ran to the E.R. The doctor had squeezed the puss out and proceeded to tell us I had a cyst on my tailbone. They put me on antibiotics (1875 mg a day) and told me to take draining baths several times a day, and said they would get me in to a surgeon soon. A couple of days later I was in the waiting room for the surgeon. He looked at it and told me it had healed up. He told me to finish of the antibiotics and the chance of it coming back in young people was slim and if it did it would be years from now.
So I went back to living a life of a normal teenager until about a week ago I had been feeling the same pain I had when I first got my cyst. I looked I the mirrior for the second time to find a hole in the same place. So on Tuesday of this week we went back to the surgeon. He had told us that it had come back. He basically told us I can live with it or have surgery to remove it and most likely it won’t come back. So I choose to have surgery. I have it on the 15th and to be honest I’m scared to death!
I just want teens my age to know there are other teens going through this your NOT alone!!! I be sure to tell you all how the surgery goes.
