Iman’s story

June 17, 2018

Hi there, thought to share my story considering everyone’s doing it and I can relate.

So basically the first time I had this “bump” was in 2015/2016? One of those years. So I had work experience and I was working at a retail store when not even two days I started feeling pain near my tailbone like the pain was so bad I can’t even explain the pain. I kept feeling like something was poking my tailbone and my mum checked it out she saw nothing but I wasn’t exaggerating there was something there.

So I went to the doctors and he told me I had pilonidal sinus and I’m like the f what’s that mind you I have a very low pain tolerance and I get scared easily so I’m here freaking out. We go to the hospital and I’m like in tears (it’s so funny looking back at it) they said I gotta do surgery.

Fast forwarding, I’m freaking out at this point because A: I’ve never had surgery before and I had a fear I would wake up during the surgery don’t ask im always paranoid and B: it was so painful afterwards the dressing like oh my god it was so painful I almost fainted not even kidding, like putting alcohol and all that disinfect stuff on a open wound is not a good combination. That was like traumatic I can’t even deal anyways.

It healed properly all that and now 2018 it decides to come back and surprise me and I’m like goddamit it’s back. I was lowkey freaking out again but I’m like I did it once I know what the pain is like I should be fine. So I go to the doctors I have a x Ray and she says I have it again and it’s inflammed. So I go and visit this very good professor he checks it out and identifies it’s a cyst blah blah I’m on the waiting list for 12months I’m currently doing my HSC so if they call me during these months i’d Have to reject because I kinda need a hsc LMAO anyway he said it’ll take 7 weeks to recover like damn are u serious.

Long story short, the pain comes and goes every month I kid you not right now the pains back I’m laying on my side and it’s the worst thing ever ugh it’s so annoying -.- I’m not as freaked out anymore tbh I’m just really glad so many other people can relate to me I don’t feel alone and it reassures me heaps! Thank you for listening to my very long story LMAO I guess we’re really strong for going through this.

Thank you for reassuring me everyone. Much love.
