I thought I would just leave a short post as in a couple of days it will be 5 years since I had surgery on my pilonidal sinus (it was closed surgery). I last posted on here on 19 August, 3 weeks after I’d had it done. Well, I have not had a single problem over the last 5 years. The wound healed well, the scar has totally faded and you would never know it was there. But best of all, I haven’t had any sign of recurrence. I know this could happen sometime down the line, but at 5 years and counting I feel pretty pleased. I know some people have terrible experiences, but I hope my story will give some of you the confidence to go for the surgery if you have been scared by all the horror stories.
