penny’s story

May 7, 2012

in October of 2011 my 17 year old daughter had her first pilonial surgery. Doctor told me before surgery it would be quick and healing time would be 4 to 6 weeks. He said it only be a 4 inch incision. He came out of surgery 2 hours later and told me the incision was 7 to 9 inches long and he remeoved a lot of infected tissue, mid line incision. 2 weeks later she had such a bad infection he went in a second time and removed more tissue. 3 weeks after that there was no healing going on, he recomended that we see a plastic surgeon, so on to Childrens hospital to our 3 rd surgery, it has been 2 months since tha last surgery and the plastic surgeon is talking about going again for surgery. I dont know what else I can do for my daughter she has missed 43 days of school this year.
